Thinking of getting one but always like the back to be protected

have you ever had problems with the back being damaged or had any scratches?

I've had one very near the top about 2cm, but that was my own fault. The bumper is great for me, and the glass at the back really doesn't need any protection because it is very scratch resistant.

What you may want to worry about is the steel band around the iPhone though. When dust gets in it can completely ruin the band, particulary around the bottoms so it would be a good idea to either clean it regulary or perhaps put some type of tape over it to protect it before you put on the bumper :)

I do not think the back glass is very scratch proof as mine shows a very light line from where i slide it in and out of it's sleeve to clean.

My friend uses his naked and the back is full of light scratches. If you care, maybe a clear stick on shield for the back only.

Lucky Labs Spectra Wrap + Teksure Back + Bumper keeps the back and sides of my phone scratch free :)

I have had my iPhone 4 for 11 months with a bumper. No glass issues on either side. Of course, I take care of my devices which helps.

I think I'd get a back protector before I got a front one. Sounds stupid (no more stupid than a glass back), but the back should be made to take abuse. You're much more careful with the screen.

Wait a second, is the bumper just a frame around the phone or isn't there a plastic covering that goes on the bacK?

I use a bumper style case and just put a ps crystal shield on the back. The only problem is that the crystal shield scratches easier than the glass. I can deal with seeing scratches though if I know they will peel off:)

I thought it was a side-wrapping band... what is it, if not?

I thought it also included a clear plastic back to cover the glass. I guess not, thanks for clearing it up everyone. I'm pretty impressed if there are no scratches with an exposed backing.

On a side note: $30 just for that ?!??!?!?
