Music, photos, videos.

I'm so sick of taking a video of my daughter just to get a popup that I've run out of space. The dumbest thing I did last time around was cancel my 32-gig 4S order in favor of a 16 gig.

EDIT: This time around.... 64-gig.

Ditto.
The 4s Video is great and chew through some storage in a HURRY.
I vastly under estimated that when buying it.
I thought, just delete every so often.
But, Im so sick of having to choose which video I wanna keep on phone at all times.
My iPhone 5 will be 32 at minimum, maybe 64.
I'll never fill a phone all the way. Ive read many places that filling storage completely is the most likely cause for failure.
So I try to reserve a big space. It may prove to be stupid on my part.
Not sure if it effects speed at all.
Im definitely considering the 64 just to have the space.

So, so incorrect...

Going from 16 to 32 here. Ill finally be able to have my whole itunes library on the phone and still have room for apps.

Could be. I know a full HD on my PC causes it to be real slow. Read many articles that it causes failure.
Id love to be wrong. Id love to read an article that debunks it.

May be just on mechanical HD's. These being Solid State may mean it doesn't matter
I hope Im worong

Going from 16GB 4 to 32GB 5. My iTunes library is approaching 1/2 TB, music, audio books, comedy so there is no way to sync everything.
On my phone I am using MOG more and more and love the 320k downloads, but I got warnings a few times now about low space.
I imagine I will also shoot more video and pictures, though when traveling I tend to offload the iPhone and Canon DSLR to my 64GB iPad.

Now that I picked up a Mac Mini I need to actually do something with those photos and videos..........

I probably won't reach capacity, but it's nice to have 32GB as my current phone already has 16GB. I'll simply call it an upgrade.

Photos and videos will quickly decrease your memory. This is why I bumped up to 32gb. Should have went with 64 to be honest.

Had a 32GB 4s, but went with 64GB just for peace of mind. I fill up my 32GB with photos, videos, songs, and "other" fairly quickly I find. Now that I can take pictures during videos it might go up even more.

32 probably would have been fine...but hey why not.

Here's my question. I didn't think it deserved a whole new thread, so hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction.

Somehow, in the pre-order craze, I accidentally ordered one 16 and one 32, when I meant to order two 32's. I didn't realize it until morning, and now I don't know how to approach the return/exchange for larger storage. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm going from 32 to 64. I'll use it for more pictures and music. My 32gb 4S is completely full right now and annoying.

If/when I get the iPhone 5 I'll move up to 32gb. Had an iPhone 4 then 4S both with 16gb storage and now only have like 700mb left so I'll def need more for music and photos

I would not open the 16. Take it to the store and exchange it. You may not get that one replaced on launch day, but you may be charged a restock fee if you open it. Contact the store where you ordered it (Apple, AT&T, VZW, Sprint, etc.)

went from 16gb 4s and now to 5 32gb mainly for pictures and 1080p videos and movies and more apps lol and besides i have a 32gb new ipad wifi so it just makes it better:cool:

you should go 64 gig being that you're a photographer. You're right that the pics and vids really take up quite a lot of space and it's only going to get worse (better?) as the camera gets better.

I personally use my phone as an iPod and camera so I need as big as possible. If they sold a 128GB I'd get it.

Realistically, if I had bought a 64GB 4s and if the 4s had LTE speeds, I would likely not upgrade. I think the opportunity to increase my capacity is one of, if not the top, driving force behind my desire to upgrade.

16 gb still. I use spotify for music.. no space.. dropbox for photobackup. Games are on my ipad 3. very rarely get past 10 gb of used space.

not going to pay apple all that money for dirt cheap flash storage.

I was all set on getting the 32 gig, but ever since I started using Spotify as my main music source I don't see the need for more storage.

What are you planning for the extra space?

I bumped my wife from an iPhone 4 16gb to a 5 with 32gb. Her 4 is mostly full with just pictures. I figure she'll be using the better camera even more, taking more videos, etc, and will use the extra space.

I went from a 32gb 4 to a 64 gb 5. In part for the camera space, and so I can keep more music and videos on there.

So what are you going to do with the extra space?

I went from a 16GB White 4S to a 32GB Black 5, and switched from AT&T to Verizon. I'm hoping that with the extra space my music library will fit on my iPhone (I don't use another iPod) so I can disable iTunes Match.

I have a 32gb 4S with about 9gb free so I may just stick with 32, but since I didn't get a chance to preorder I will probably take either 32 or 64 whichever is available when I get to the store.
