I used a picture of myself, so that I can make one half of my face appear older. I felt like it was lacking with just the old/present face, so I tried to make the older side feel worn down and what not. I know the "old" ear is slightly out of place, but I can easily move that part down as I please. I'm really looking to improve this image, because my teacher likes the concept. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.

Keeping with your concept, the "worn photo" look that you used should be placed over the "youthful" side of the image since it would actually be older.

Interesting concept. What bothers me is the perfectly vertical space down the center. It may appear more natural if one picture was torn down the middle and overlapped the other asymmetrically. The previous poster makes a good point of depicting the youthful picture as aged while the older one as current. Perhaps even the youthful picture would be B+W. Reading left to right (Latin languages), I expect "before" to be on the left and "after" to be on the right. Therefore, there's an expectation for the aged photo to be on the right.

The old photo does not appear to be aged that much. I expect to see more wrinkles. Eye would likely be squinting from dimmed vision and bags under eyes might be more pronounced. Perhaps there should also be some gray hair. Ears have a tendency to enlarge and hang more as we age; the lobe is to tight to the side of the head. What are the chances of someone wearing the same shirt after several decades?

I agree. Otherwise, you've done a really great job.

Thank you all for the comments. I am taking the comments into consideration while I revise it. I really like the idea of making the "youth" side seem aged and torn. That would really give the illusion of the passing of time, as if the youthful photo was taken many many years ago.

and.. I completely forgot to change the shirt for the "older" side. I guess I'll work on it. Thanks again everyone!
