Thoughts on the Alpine Loop? Is it really that uncomfortable?

I love mine. The hook keeps the band firmly in place for me all day & I think they look great. I'm surprised to hear that people aren't liking them. I even picked up a 2nd color Alpine loop on Friday afternoon.
For running though, I'd probably go with the Ocean band.

I think it is comfy, tho I’d never wear a fabric band during activity that involves sweat or getting it wet.

I picked up the Ultra yesterday and also snagged the orange alpine loop band to go along with it. The alpine loop band was the first one I put on and haven’t taken it off since. It’s probably one of the most comfortable bands I’ve owned to date, barely even notice it. Even while sleeping with the watch on last last night it was fine.
Granted I haven’t tried working out or running in it just yet so we’ll see how that goes.
I usually tend to stick to sport bands for running/working out as I can then easily jump in the shower afterwards. I’ve always worried that if I wear any of the other type of bands the sweat and showers would eventually wear the bands down but that is likely just a falsehood in my own head. Lol.

I dont like it, i have a preorder with the trail loop which looks the best for running, but i dont want to pay 100€ for it later, thats why im just gonna wait a little longer for my ultra
I find it quite comfortable. Though I'd have to say for me, most comfortable bands I have are the braided solo loop, followed by the spot loop.

I find it very comfortable and also easy to take on and off. Once I found the proper loop that is good for my fit (4 down tight for workouts, 5 down a bit looser for normal wear) it was a no brainer. I won’t pretend it’s as quick as a solo loop with no adjustment or even a sports loop with Velcro but we are talking a couple seconds to put on and even less to take off. It’s a nice look band too. I’m very happy with it.

I'm not a fan of it. It simultaneously feels too loose and too tight. I think its because I'm between size loops. So if I put it on the tighter setting it digs into my wrist, but if I go on the looser one it flops around.

My husband has it, and finds it very comfortable. He has no issues putting it on or taking it off. I have the ocean band and find that one really comfy as well.

I initially did not like the band based on feel, it felt like paper in hand.
I also did not like the slack on the alpine loop, this was resolved by fastening it one loop more.
My opinion changed a lot after a long hike, the band itself I did not notice and the best part was that my wrist was not sweaty under the band like it is with the apple watch sports band.
I went from a Nay to a Yay!

For me, it’s not uncomfortable per se but not as comfortable and light as my favorite band which is the Braided Solo Loop. It’s also more difficult to get on and off versus a similar Sport Loop band. It’s a very nice looking band, and definitely serves its purpose from a utilitarian standpoint but it’s certainly not an everyday wear in my opinion.

I tried to like it, but ultimately I returned the AWU/alpine and got another AWU w/midnight Ocean.
What I didn’t like was that I had to be careful when taking it off, so the Ti hook didn’t smack the case. Yes, it can be done if you take a few more seconds, but who’s got time for that?? 😀
I also didn’t like that I couldn’t easily attach it in low light. I can loop and secure the Sport loop without looking at it. Can’t do that with the Alpine.
I wanted the Trail loop, but didn’t want to wait 6 weeks for my watch. I‘ve got one on order, though.
One great thing that came out of this…I discovered that the Ocean band is awesome. It looks a bit bulky in photos, but it’s super comfortable and looks great in person.

I love it. It is the most comfortable band of any that I tried on any watch for daily use, exercise, and sleeping. The only slight issue is that it takes additional 10 seconds to put on and off.
I also showered in it and it tried very fast and no smell so far. Dried faster than any other fabric type band but little bit slower than silicon one. Overall pretty fast drying.

I have found the Alpine band to be quite comfortable. I have yet to go out on a long jog or run but I feel it will work just fine. It does take a bit more time to secure when putting it on/off but I'm sure with time that skill will improve lol. I went ahead and picked up the white and olive colored alpine bands so I can have a bit of variety. I'd love the trail loops but I'm having no luck finding those anywhere other than waiting 1-2 months for them...
I’m loving my alpine loop! I think the style of it with the watch looks great, I’ve been enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.
As for comfort: it’s great! I’ve had my Apple Watch ultra for exactly 48 hours now and haven’t really taken it off (also due to the amazing battery life I haven’t had to charge it yet). With other Watch bands like the sport band, my wrist can get a bit sweaty so I would take it off often. But the alpine loop has been so comfortable for me, it hasn’t left my wrist. I’ve worn it to sleep twice.

The positive comments are tempting me to open mine (green) and try it instead of selling or swapping it. [edit: LOL, as if someone —who keeps the accessories for his iPhone X unused and in the box— could ever let go of the band that’s listed on the box.]

I really line mine, I am normally a Sport Band guy, but also have all the others, the Alpine will definitely get a lot of use.

Honestly it's way more comfortable that I anticipated, I even slept with it and it didn't bother me. But for running I still prefer the sport loop though.
