What you guys think about the new iPad Magic Keyboard in white?

I think it is pretty cool and clean looking but it might not be as durable as the black one.

I've had the black magic keyboard for about 2 months, and within a week I found all sorts of mysterious smudges and stains on it. Ended up getting a skin for it, because that was much easier to keep clean.

As pretty as the white MK is, I just can't imagine it looking good after any usage at all.

I would be bummed that I already have it in black except I have a cute skin on it, so who cares about color?

I’ve had the black one since release day and used it daily, intensely, as my 12.9 iPad Pro is my primary computer. By now, the black has several permanent stains and discoloration, and a crack in the plastic. I love the looks of the white but I fear it would be a plate of grey grease after two months....

Thanks for providing visual reinforcement that a skin is the way to go. It's easy to see where you grab your iPad to carry it, and the random stains are particularly vexing. As with yours, the area around the logo seemed to be a stain magnet. Once life starts to become more portable again, it'll be important to have that extra level of protection against scuffs and stains from tossing the iPad in a bag. And I already anticipate the "stain-gate" threads here when people realize it's going to be impossible to keep the white MK clean, unless Apple has substantially changed the material composition of the cover.

Yeah, I should have had a skin on it from the start. It's a sad situation, really, because on the one hand you feel like that already is a case, and the whole point of a case is to protect the iPad inside and absorb the scuffs that would otherwise end up on the precious slab. But at the same time, unlike a MacBook, you don't routinely remove this case -- in fact, you need it to type. So the grease and scuffs are right there for all to see, which makes you look sloppy.
I don't understand Apple's choice of material here. It's just not nice enough for such an expensive item. I understand it needs to be light but I am wondering whether some other type of plastic, or some thin metal (or fake metal) coating could have been worked out. I am 100% committed to the iPad Pro -- but this remains its weak spot.

If you buy the white one, you simply have to 1) always store it in another case when carrying in a backpack 2) never eat anywhere near it or let your cat/dog near it and 3) use it with clean hands only. In other words, use it like you would a laptop. Which negates the point of this being a peel-off accessory...

It will look terrible inside of a few months. I got a type folio for my last iPad and the material just gets stained and discolored so easily. I ended up putting a skin on my MK immediately.

I did also but I only put it on the bottom surface of the keyboard, the only part that would normally touch a surface when it’s in use. I found that was the only area of my previous Smart Keyboard folio that had any signs of wear. The area up behind the ipad itself remained pristine. So far the same is true with the MKB.

It looks good, but unfortunate that Apple didn’t address some of the missing features found in so many third party keyboards. Notably the lack of media keys for quick access to common tasks like volume and brightness controls.

Not sure if it's made from the same material than the smart folios but they used to have a white version of that. I saw it once in the street and it was not very nice to see (turned brown-ish)...
