Thanks for providing visual reinforcement that a skin is the way to go. It's easy to see where you grab your iPad to carry it, and the random stains are particularly vexing. As with yours, the area around the logo seemed to be a stain magnet. Once life starts to become more portable again, it'll be important to have that extra level of protection against scuffs and stains from tossing the iPad in a bag. And I already anticipate the "stain-gate" threads here when people realize it's going to be impossible to keep the white MK clean, unless Apple has substantially changed the material composition of the cover.I’ve had the black one since release day and used it daily, intensely, as my 12.9 iPad Pro is my primary computer. By now, the black has several permanent stains and discoloration, and a crack in the plastic. I love the looks of the white but I fear it would be a plate of grey grease after two months....
Yeah, I should have had a skin on it from the start. It's a sad situation, really, because on the one hand you feel like that already is a case, and the whole point of a case is to protect the iPad inside and absorb the scuffs that would otherwise end up on the precious slab. But at the same time, unlike a MacBook, you don't routinely remove this case -- in fact, you need it to type. So the grease and scuffs are right there for all to see, which makes you look sloppy. Thanks for providing visual reinforcement that a skin is the way to go. I did also but I only put it on the bottom surface of the keyboard, the only part that would normally touch a surface when it’s in use. I found that was the only area of my previous Smart Keyboard folio that had any signs of wear. The area up behind the ipad itself remained pristine. So far the same is true with the MKB.It will look terrible inside of a few months. I got a type folio for my last iPad and the material just gets stained and discolored so easily. I ended up putting a skin on my MK immediately.
