So i had like 4 email accounts (all yahoo) synced on my iPhone 4S with iOS 5.1.1 and the badge gave me real number of new unread emails only. Like 2-3 or whatever the number of NEW unread emails were there.

But yesterday i updated to iOS 7.0.4 and restored my backup and now the badge reads like 4500 unread emails. How do i fix this and make the badge show only NEW unread emails and not ALL like it is showing now.

    Have you tried...

Edit --> Mark All --> Mark As Unread
    followed by
Edit --> Mark All --> Mark As Read

Tried but the Mark All does not mark all the emails and probably the only emails that show up in initial view, about 50 or so i think and not the thousands unread that i have.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Click on your Account > Click Delete Account.

    Problem solved.

Hey thanks. Last i mentioned that what you told did not work but then tried again and now no more thousands of emails badge. Thanks a lot for a genuine suggestion. Appreciate it a lot.
