Many actors are out of a job most of the time then some when they've really made it choose what they want. Their accountants handle their taxes and usually find ways to pay very little tax as possible. As they can afford the best to get around the system.

so you're defending this position that it isn't a 'real job'? based on what - the schedule/financial situation of A-list actors? so i guess Billy the line cook doesn't have a real job because "gordon ramsey"..?

does being successful at acting after [x] amount of years negate the hard work they did studying acting/ trying out endlessly for parts or roles they mostly get rejected from? i don't understand your logic.

many people with "real jobs" take time off work / vaca day in order to be an extra in movies. its fun
You will NOT see Apple or Microsoft employees who have deadlines go to an audition on short notice or take time off to be in a movie.

Looks like a line of unemployed people/kids or those looking for a new career in hopes of becoming the next Honey Booboo.

Deadlines aren't that much of an issue if you're good at time management. I do extra work every now and then and just take annual leave for a day. No big deal.

It isn't a real job. After all its called the entertainment industry. Except not everybody there is getting paid 50 million for a film such as Robert Downey. If it died, life would continue as normal.

Define successful… Many actors get where they are via who they know.

Actors acting pathetic on stage at the awards for their next part or even balling their eyes out for it.

how a mere casting call elicits slander of an entire industry... :rolleyes:
maybe your job just suck balls and you need a new one, man.

So jobs that allow for such flexibility aren't as real as yours?

I always find the phrase "real job" to come across like an ultra conservative. You might be a raving liberal, but that what I hear. Like if you aren't shoveling coal everyday you aren't as good as real workin' folk. What about Kim who runs this site? I'm sure he pays his taxes like everyone else. But I bet he has more flexibility running a website than a construction worker. Doesn't make his job any less real in my mind.

Kinda reading a lot into two words, ns;js

You could label all highly successful people the same way.

At least I'm providing content and opinion. I think that's what comments sections are for.

Cosby sweaters and plaid, flannel button-ups. And many women sported side ponytails and leg warmers, which didn't seem quite appropriate for Apple shareholders (Jobs introduced the Mac during a stockholder meeting in 1984)

Well right, because what kids know about the 80's is the singular caricature they've been sold by markers and ad people who've made a living on the manufactured trend of the rolling 30 year nostalgia wave. So it's all leg warmers and red lipstick and all manner of artifacts from three different decades blurred into one. They weren't around, how would they know the difference? They're just buying what we're selling.

But according to this site experts and armchair executives, nobody cares about this movie. Is it not true?

My take is this will be a big surprise hit. The Hollywood regulars have dismissed any Apple drama after the Ashton film. If anything, it has the makings of a cult movie.

Thousands is impressive. It was the same thing for Howard Stern's Private Parts, of which I earned a spot as an extra. We were all standing around and then Jackie the Jokeman made an off-the-cuff joke. On stage in this scene was the genuine AC/DC playing an intro song.

Balling their eyes out?

The first few rows were filled with paid extras, and then the rest of us non-paid extras.

Wow I didn't know there were such thing as non-paid extras. Although it's voluntary, I thought some token of appreciation (like a T-shirt, at least) should be given, because the movie is not non-profit.

This is true.

The best actors I think are the stage actors. They ARE good and don't need takes and takes to get a line right. If talent = money, stage actors should be the ones getting paid the big bucks.

Regarding the bolded part...I don't know..I really want follow it to the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

wow... what a crowd...

Seems this "Steve Jobs" must be pretty important fella. :apple:

Fun, friendly, informative & entertaining. It was a great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday.

…and why is it when some actors career is going down the pan for not having any good roles for a long time, they then decide that they're gay now?

you = confirmation bias.

how you went from this story about no-name extras, to braying your hatred of oscar winning acceptance speeches takes a real 'special' talent.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
