I dropped my Powerbook out of a moving car at 80mph - why won't Applecare cover it?

Really? Who did that? I can't seem to find that thread. :p

What's wrong with them? They're a good waste of time when you're bored.

Because 99% of them look virtually the same. A desk, a monitor/Mac, an iPod, a phone. Occasionally if we're really lucky, we get a two-monitor set-up, or those who 'store' all their camera lenses or every piece of electronics they currently own along the edge to take the picture (is that really a set-up or just the shot you took to cover your ass with your insurance company)

Unless there's something really impressive about a setup - or it's a brand new model that no-one's seen pictures yet why bother? And why so many variations - Powerbook setups, iBook setups, under-18 setups...

I'd rather examine my navel while bored.

Only the main one, not the like "All People who have 1.42 Ghz Mac Mini with 80Gb HardDrive, Wired Apple Mouse, Wireless Apple KeyBoard, with Dell 20' screen, with Creative Speakers, also need to have iPod, Post your set up here!"

Also Thread Complain about Thread!:p

How about-

'weird question'
'how do you delete apps'
'mac question'
'how do i...'

basically any title that could have a million meanings.

'need cash now sale'!
'why are macs so expensive'
'I want a consistant UI' - duh.
'which ipod do you have'

ahhhh

"HELP! I have an apple 2 and its not turning on! I have no money!"

People clicking the 'negative' button on articles having to do with brand new apps and hardware. WHY??? Is bill gates coming here and clicking that?

Have you seen much whining in the few days you've been here?! ;) It's not that bad.

Is it?

No, it's not bad here.
I have some Mac friends and they whine quite frequently.
I do think most Mac users don't hesitate to voice there displeasure.
Thats not a bad thing. How can you improve something if you don't know what's wrong. :)
Everything has to be perfect or where not happy.

Nikon or Canon?
Help with deciding which dSLR!
Why doesn't Apple have a PDA?
Why doesn't Apple have a console gaming system?
"Insert Car Here" vs. "Insert Car Here"

Any thread entitled just "Help!" – especially if...

  1. The OP has posted an identical thread in several sub-forums, just to make sure someone notices.
  2. The OP gets shirty if anyone points out that it might be beneficial to use a more descriptive title in future, or to kindly not litter the forums with a myriad of identical threads.
  3. Having not recieved an answer within ten minutes, the OP bumps his thread with a post along the lines of "What, nobody????  "

honestly, I've never seen half the threads that you all are complaining about, and lord knows I'm here enough to see them if they're out there. :p

some questions do get asked too many times, but this thread just seems like whining to me...

Maybe one of us needs to come up with some little MacRumors newbie video that is required to be watched by anybody that wants to post. It'll go over all of the stuff in the FAQ that nobody seems to read in the first place. I'm actually bored enough to make it.

It's the first virus....no, it's a trojan...no, it's a worm....no....it's the second.....no, it's actually the third....uh, which?"

Threads that deals with: "Wheres ....?" "The Official..." "NintendoVsMicrosoftVsSony..." "GayVsThe World"

Matter of fact all threads that HATE,Lotion and belittle others and there way of life on the boards.

Bless

I ALL THE THREADS!
They can all go to wasteland for all I care.
People just keep making more and more and more. I mean, it's like I'm on some sort of forum, or something....

it makes me happy that I'm not the only one who feels this way.

As for my 'tar I added it after the most recent mini announcement when no one seemed even a little bit happy. I'm not sure what ppl were expecting but it sure seemed like the invisible bar was set pretty high. :D

I hate anything Official™ stamped.
The [insert month here] Desktop threads are really starting to annoy me. It's not that I disagree with the concept, but every single month? Let's do them every other month to get you guys un-addicted...
