They said 150 million monthly active users. Likely this means people interacting with the app at least once a month. So not necessarily very active, but they're not counting accounts.
I mean, it’s tied to my instagram account and sometimes I’ll accidentally hit the Threads notification on it, which puts me on Threads. Oops, I guess I’m considered “active”.

150 million according to the transcript of conference call.

Threads is growing well too. There are now more than 150M monthly actives, and it continues to generally be on the trajectory I hoped to see. My daughters would want me to mention that Taylor Swift is now on Threads -- that was a big deal in my house.
I mean, logging in once a month I wouldn’t consider “active”. A better metric would be average daily users.

I was a daily user of Threads and found the network to be pretty active. I deleted my account recently because Threads is not remotely enforcing its community guidelines. There is widespread transphobia that is not acted upon. It’s not as bad as X, but still pretty bad.

Used it initially -- found it to be just spammy and overwhelming and deleted it and moved on (months ago)

I have found it the opposite. It seems like the bots have dropped in the posts I see.

I use twitter more today than I ever did. It is one of the best sources of sports news that doesn't get play in the mainstream.
I also really enjoy X. I’m on it way more than anything else. I’ve also noticed their algorithm pushes stuff into my feed from opposing political viewpoints rather than the meta echo chamber approach

When the children of Musk, Mosseri and Zuckerberg grow up they will see all the terrible stuff their fathers did and it will make them feel extreme levels of shame and self hatred. Some of them will rebel against their fathers, others might harm themselves or become drug addicts.

There really is no way to prevent that from happening unless they take strong and permanent action against crime and hatred in their platforms. But they won’t do that because they love the money crime brings in.

They won’t be able to condition or brainwash their children to love the money and ignore the crimes. That will only make it worse.

Well, I'm not going to use F*c*book. But I'm also not going to use Xitter again, at least not as long as it's owned by a neo-nazi.

The only one I'm on right now is Spoutible. I'm thinking about setting up my own Mastodon server.
