I already have a Windows 8 Partition on my unibody mbp, along with my main osx partition.

I want to play around with a third partition (linux maybe), can I still partition the hard drive without having to remove any operating systems?

Thanks,

taylor

Sure you just need to resize one of the other partitions to make space.
Make some free space if there isn't any and open disk utility to resize the OSX partition. I don't know if disk utility also resizes the ntfs partition should that be necessary but there are windows tools for that or well a linux live DVD/flashdrive can do the trick. Next just partition all the free space.

There is though probably the most powerful tools in the linux community so I wouldn't be surprised if the linux distro you want comes with an installer already capable of all this. It should be able to carve out its own space. If not the live installs can let you run software that can do just about any magic with partition reorganizing.

For the HFS+ OSX partition disk utility is the easiest and probably safest route.
