Went to "Thifty World" and saw a SmartCache III PCI SCSI Host Adapter for $5 95, box and everything. I had no idea what this was but bought it anyway. It was an Apple product, why not? Now I am looking around the internet and really can't find any good information about this device, other than it's used in RAID systems. What is it's exact purpose?

sounds like its to add scsi ability to a Mac . or to add a faster scsi bus to a Mac that has a slower scsi onboard
