If you've ever wanted to snuggle with your Apple devices, Throwboy has a new Kickstarter project that may be of interest. The new Iconic Pillow Collection includes a selection of plushy pillows that have been designed to look like Apple products.

The collection includes five pillows meant to mimic the Apple II, released in 1977; the first Macintosh, released in 1984; the iMac G3, which was released in 1998 and also happens to be celebrating its 20th anniversary today; the iPod, released in 2001; and the iPhone, released in 2007.

Each of the five pillows features embroidery and design details to make it look like the product it's designed after. The 1984 pillow, for example, has a rainbow logo (not an Apple logo, for trademark reasons), a floppy disk drive, and vents at the sides.

The 2001 iPod pillow features the iPod's two-toned body, a click wheel, and a screen, while the iPhone includes a Home button, speaker, and the silver and black color scheme from the original device.

According to Throwboy, all of its pillows are made from ultra-soft 100 percent vegan fine grain plush, with careful embroidery, woven and silk screen labels, and a poly fiber filling. Each pillow measures approximately 13 x 5 x 13 inches and weighs just about a pound.

The first backers can get a single Iconic Pillow of their choice for $27, after which prices will go up to $33. Pricing on two pillows starts at $54 for early backers, while all five can be purchased by the first backers for $135.

Specific pricing for each tier is available on the Kickstarter project site, and pricing will vary after early bird rewards run out.

Throwboy plans to begin shipping the first of the pillows out in January 2019. While Kickstarter project shipping dates are often delayed, Throwboy is an established company that's been making quirky pillows for a decade, so it's likely that's a reasonable shipping timeline.

Update: Given the strong interest in the Iconic Pillow Collection, Throwboy has added a new pillow representing the well-known Mac beach ball, aka the spinning wheel of death. It can be purchased for $20 alongside any other Iconic pillow.

I bought Roberto's original icon pillows back in 2007, hand sewn by the dude himself. Amazing the company he has grown it into, but the prices have been creeping up steadily, which is strange because he moved the manufacturing offshore which is a shame, though not unexpected.

The Bondi Blue iMac looks like the best of the bunch. I might have to buy one of these for my new studio which needs decorating.

Also they better watch out—Apple has a design patent on round rectangles.

Good thing he makes only one color for the iMac pillow. Otherwise I'd have to buy them all...

I feel kind of embarrassed, but I want one for my new office. I'm currently buying stuff for it now but I'm telling myself I really don't need to buy any of these :)

Much more comfortable than snuggling my real Apple ][, that’s for sure.

Dang it: they don't have a red version of the iMac; it would match my personal Red (don't remember the marketing name for it) iMac. Either way, I'll take that and the 1984 Macintosh. :)

Now to find the money to do buy these...

the first shipment of these pillows should go to those webcam girls
a lot of the pillows they use are made very unsafe with fringes and toxic dyes.
I'm concerned that they might snort a fringe while sleeping or contract a nasty skin rash while dirty dancing with these harmful things. i do point this out to them while the sway about waiting for that sugar daddy to log in, and they thank me for my concern.

Sorry, no can do. As an committed omnivore, I insist that there be at least some animal plush on my pillows.

    These are pretty cute, though.

    Ugh, no thank you.

    1) SEWldered poly fiber. Can't even replace this after purchasing without ripping it to bits. And let me guess, that'd void your warranty if you did that.

    2) The embroidery is STITCHED IN?! I mean, come on. I remember the days when stitching was upgradable. It probably costs them about 50 cents for the material. Imagine the markup they must be making. I should have the option to buy this myself and do it.

    3) Weighs approximately 1lb. Nobody cares about a thinner and lighter pillow! We need proper pillow functionality like we used to have, which you can't get in these Fisher Price plushies.

    4) "Limited Edition". Basically, it means we're paying through the nose and they'll just release a better version next year which have ALL the features that this generation should have had.

I think it's time for the CEO to step down and get some fresh blood who understands what PRO pillow users REALLY need. Form over function.

Having married into a family where grandmother, mother, wife and now daughters too, can all sew (and knock out cushions like these with ease). I have to say that they don’t really look very good. Lumpen shapes that only vaguely resemble the target objects and designs that look like they’ve been applied by a ten-year-old with a felt tip. Hopefully, the photographs aren’t doing them justice.

I’m guessing the seamstresses in this outsourced factory have never actually seen actual versions of the objects in question.

So do you want Jony Ive to replace their CEO?

"This pillow, it's so supple, so thin. It emanates a patina of delicate fabric. Exquisite and extraordinary, like no other."
