Thumbnails in OS X

Is there a way to view images in folders as thumbnails in OS X? i am used to looking at images ina folder then picking the one i want insted of opening every one then picking what i want.

Have Finder selected.

View > View Options

Check "Show Icon Preview"

If you want the function only in your pictures folder, select 'in this window only'. I know this would be common sense once that window is open, but I am just pointing it out, because I have often not selected it before making any changes, and it screws up all of the file positioning (if changing icon size) etc. 😱
