Thunderbird, Address Book & LDAP

I'm tired of Mail. It crashes, it's slow and I want to move. However, I have a rather large Address Book and I don't want to move them into another application.

I've heard that you can setup LDAP from your Address Book and then get Thunderbird to connect to it?

I've never setup LDAP, does anyone know of a tutorial or way to do this?

If you've been using Mail, then I assume all your contacts are in the Address Book app.

Couldn't get that working, probably as I'm not entering the values correctly.

I'm downloading the Alpha of Thunderbird 3.0.
