I'm considering buying the thunderbolt display option. But does it have the same capabilities as a desktop like the iMac? Thanks.

What do you mean by capabilities? Are you comparing a 27 inch iMac to a MBA+TBD?

Or are you asking whether the TBD is the same screen quality as a 27 inch iMac?

It's just a lovely display that gives you 3 USB2.0, 1 FireWire 800, 1 Gigabit Ethernet, and 1 Thunderbolt port out the back.
