Hi all,
I wondered why nobody yet has tested thunderbolt by connecting two new MBPs and boot one of them in target mode, like you do it with FireWire.

When pressing T during boot the computer goes to target mode which means it can be accessed as a external hard drive via a conncted firewire or thunderbolt cable. It even shows both FireWIre and Thunderbolt symbol on the screen then!

Go guys, get your SSDs in the MBPs and and tell us about the speed via thunderbolt !!!

Bye for now,
james

At a guess because no one yet sells thunderbolt cables?

I at least assume it's not exactly the same wiring wise as a mini display port cable end to end.

That was a good idea to hook up 2 MBPs together anyways. It would be a waste to have it to hook up an Apple monitor only.
