I've got a Lacie external drive that works fine on another MBP, but not on mine. I connect it, but it doesn't power up and it doesn't appear in disk utility. I've downloaded the drivers from the Lacie website and I've also reimaged the MBP but still no joy. Is it possible the port is disabled somewhere or is it probably fried?

What is reported in the Apple System Profiler about the Thunderbolt port?

What model MBP do you have? Are you sure it has a Thunderbolt port, and not a siple mini-DisplayPort?

Ah, it's a few years old - 2008, so maybe it's just a display-port?
