thunderbolt to firewire 800

Is there an adapter to connect my Firewire800 external drive to the thunderbolt input of the MBA ? Does it even make sense to want this?

Your question does make sense of course.

The only adapter available at the moment is the Apple 27" Thunderbolt display, which is a bit pricey for just being an adapter but overall it's a nice screen 🙂
