It would be nice to see him return, if it's at all possible.

Standing in front of a distracted tiger interested in finding out more about a audience member, makes me hope that he'll return to the stage -- even if it's to say good-bye.

--- Seems like a bad episode of the Simpsons (no bearing on reality or disrespect intended), ...

Inside one of the showrooms, Gunter and Ernst demonstrate their talented albino tiger riding a unicycle. "A round of applause, please, for Anastasia. She loves show-business. So much nicer than the savagery of the jungle, ja?" In a flashback, we see Anastasia sleeping peacefully in Africa. Behind her two men approach in a jeep. "Hey, tiger!" one of them calls out, "Wake up!" He shoots a tranquilizer dart into her, and she slumps over. The memory angers her sufficiently to attack her owners and tear them to shreds.

I'm very happy to hear of his improvement. Prayer does work. His moving his hands and feet is a good sign. Since from a report that I heard today, that he had suffered a stroke. If true it is due to the blood loss and trauma in the neck. He was at a great risk for blood clots which could travel directly to the brain. I'm sure that they had him on blood thinners which would reduce the risk and the damage.

In a Larry King interview, Siegfried Fischbacher said
Roy was falling. He fell and wanted the protect because that's danger, you know? An animal like this and tripping and gone over there ... So he took Roy and put him backstage behind the curtain to protect him. And then he let Roy go and went back."
He's saying that the tiger was trying to protect Horn, not harm him, which contradicts the reports from audience members, who said it was an attack, and the crew members backstage who sprayed the tiger with fire extinguishers (a technique they were trained to use) to get him to let go of Horn.

Fishbacher, who was not on stage at the time of the accident, said Horn slipped, while witnesses said that the tiger bit Horn after he bopped it on the nose with a microphone because it was uncooperative. Speculation is that Fischbacher may be saying this to protect the tiger.

I couldn't find out whether or not he actually observed the accident from backstage. I would guess not, since he'd seen the show a million times.

CNN story

Meanwhile, Horn's bulldog came to visit him, and he was reportedly able to pet it.

Protecting??? but then I'd not expect our favourite mullet touting tiger taunter to say anything different when faced with losing his show....

Anybody still interested in news updates?

Roy Horn is in UCLA Medical Center, where Siegfried visits him daily and says he finds it strange to be free of the pressures of the daily Las Vegas show.

I learned that the tiger that grabbed Horn was named Montecore, that a portion of Horn's skulll was removed to relieve pressure on the brain, and that now he is able to breathe on his own, sit in a wheelchair, listen to the radio, watch cartoons, laugh, gesture, and write notes. He is still unable to eat, walk, or speak. The walls of his room have show posters.

Finally, Siegfried has been consulting about tigers for NBC and DreamWorks as they work on a computer-animated series inspired by Seigfried & Roy. The series will be named "Father of the Pride" (get it? a lion joke) and will be on NBC next fall.

Okay friends, I am right now a school student and my ambition in future is to be a great magician. But I don’t know what I should do for that. I was wondering how the magician makes possible the impossible things. Do they get any special power from evil spirit? The magic trick shows that a person goes in a box and they stick swords through it. How the torture does they do that? Have got any ideas about this sword magic trick?

Hmm, this seems like a good opportunity. Yes, I do have special powers and know how to tame evil spirits. And I have many ideas about sword magic tricks. Do you have any money?

BTW, how is Roy these days? Is there a chance he will work again? That had to be the best show in town, as well as the most expensive. Can you imagine him coming on stage with a tiger? Maybe just a cub this time, though.
