    Will a Tiger OS X from a 2007 Macbook work on a 2004 iBook?

My friend seems to think it will.

    Regards

    Matt

No. The grey install discs are machine specific. A retail copy of Tiger will work.

No, as those gray restore DVDs are machine specific. MRoogle would have told you this hundreds of times.

Besides the fact that it's machine specific, and that it wasn't licensed for that purpose, it will also not work because the Tiger disc from a Macbook has the Intel OS X code on it -- it has some PPC code in it, but it doesn't have the complete installation of PPC OS X, AFAIK.
