After OS X Tiger's release, will the next OS X be Liger?

More about Ligers here

And don't forget Tigons, which are much rarer and apparently smaller than Ligers.

I was reading about these several months ago - really quite fascinating.

Tigons or Tions are dwarf versions, Ligers are the giant versions. It depends on the sex of the mating couple.

Ligers make for the biggest of the big cats...move over Siberian Tiger...

Ok, so has anyone else seen Napoleon Dynamite? Now every time I see/hear "liger" I start laughing.

Please, no! Ligers are not naturally occurring wild animals, they are freaks created as a result of unnatural (manmade) conditions. There are so many graceful WILD cats out there to use as names for OS X.

My suggestions :
Mac OS X 10.5 Cheetah
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

Actually, Cheetah was the code name for OS X.0 (cheers to Brize for correcting me)

I would like to see OS X Mongoose. It would get away from the cat theme, but still very awesome... 😀

OS 11

Maybe the OS 11 series will be named after skills....
bowhunting skills
nunchuck skills
computer hacking skills

heck yes that'd be cool!

I thought Cheetah was the codename for 10.0, and Puma for 10.1.

It was mentioned in another thread that Apple have trademarked Lynx, Leopard, and Cougar for future OS X releases.
