I just checked with the UCI school. They will be selling the media for $5, and the license to use it for $59.

Sux for them

Those guys are basically paying full student price. My school UT@Austin sold it to me for 15 bucks. I think the school buys it for you or something like that. I got MS office for 12 bucks. Its going to suck going out into the real world and paying full price for everything but by then i will have money i guess.

okay that sucks. i just checked with my school. ALSO in oregon (PSU) and apparently they sell it for $92.00 (WTF). they can't even sell it for the academic price that is offered through apple. i guess U of O has some campus agreement that they can sell it for quite a bit less.

i wish i still knew somebody there, it is only 2 hours away.

IM a highschool student but my mom is on board of the school. That means i qualify for the educaiton discout. Board members are also on the list of people that can buy with edu discount.

On campus at UMaine our computer store (the computer connection) is a licensed apple dealer and they sell all software/hardware to students at the student price.

hey joe how much are they selling it for at the Computer Connection store at UMaine? I might get my peeps to grab me a copy if they are going for less than $69. By the way...good job representin...that's my alma mater...class of 04'

...Go blackbears!

Apparently, my institution just got a site license from Apple and we're entitled to free OS upgrades through 2007

The only thing is that they've warned against upgrading immediately (translation: we're not offering it until we're sure it's fine), and they send some moron from tech support to install it on your computer, so you don't get any actual media (I don't think). I'm seriously considering putting down the $69 just in case I have any computer issues. I won't even have a CD to boot from (unless I can get away with using my Panther CD).
