Tiger won't install!!!!!

I'm having the same problem on my fathers 1 GHZ eMac running 10.2.8- he's got plenty of HD space so that's not the problem... I'm figuring it's his RAM as well... How do I get to the RAM in an eMac- I've never done it before so I'm a little nervous about messing up his machine...

Oh, and the Tiger is retail version- no monkey business here...lol...

Two people wrote that they were unable to update to 10.4 from 10.2. Try backing up your files, format the hard drive and do a clean install.

There are no firmware updates for any eMac or iMac G4 models.

Did a little research on Apple's site and the only thing I can come up with is "Erase and Install". In other words, do a clean installation.

Back up all your important stuff.
