Don't blow smoke.
I am still waiting for the answer to the question posed in my post #251:

Oh, you're still waiting? I hope I haven't kept you up.

I can direct you to many posts implicitly doomsaying Apple or hating on the watch. Start by looking for posts favourited by people like Benjamin Frost, samiznaetekto, or indeed, yourself. I promise rich pickings.

I'm sure the returns also "exceeded expectations"!

Possibly. A lot of people here seem to have ordered two on launch day, with the plan being to return the one they didn't want after trying both on. But after Watches were available to try on in stores without a long waiting list, that behavior probably decreased. If Apple subtracted returns from sales, maybe that's why Cook said that June Watch sales were up?

With the reported above 95% customer satisfaction rating, returns should be lower than for almost any other tech product.

I never liked the Apple Watch idea. I thought it to be too gimmicky. When my son asked when I was going to get one, (I own almost all products Apple has launched) I told him I still own an Omega Constallation watch my father gave me in 1954, 61 years ago, and when I retrieved it from storage and put it on my wrist it started running without missing one second; I also told him that I did not need another computer on my wrist, and that 61 years from now I doubt if the Apple Watch could be used or, for that matter, if Apple will be here as we know it today.

People just don't wear watches as much as they used too. The smartphone is all you need.

I get what you're saying, but there's a certain part of me that thinks of my grandfather when I see people pulling something big and shiny out of their pocket to see what time it is. Maybe it'd be quicker and more convenient if smartphones came with a gold chain so they could hook to a vest button. :) Seriously though, if I were still in a time-sensitive profession like I used to be, I'd vastly prefer glancing at a watch to digging around for a smartphone every time I want to know what time it is.

You could change the word omega for stone and it would be the same thing. Pretty useless too though

Perhaps something like this?

What a beautiful Apple Watch Beta! ;)

If one wants a watch only to check the time, there are options starting at 9.90 euro (and possibly less). They also run on one battery for ages and do not require daily charging. The people who can actually use Apple Watch seem to be either the fitness crowd (I lift weights, but don't run, so I don't think AW would be much use for me), the gadget collectors or people who think taking five seconds to take their smartwatch out of the pocket is way too long to check notifications.

I'm very curious what the long-term sales will be for AW. Personally I think Apple locked itself in a very tiny niche it won't be able to emerge out of, but then, when the first iPhone was introduced I thought nobody is ever going to want a phone without physical keys ;)
