Waste of money. I fear for the future of Apple. I don't think Tim understand the common man at all and eventually the "DNA" of Apple will morph to be more like after Jobs was fired.

I think that Cook chased out all of the rivals that had vision. They are running out of the ideas that Jobs had in the pipeline. They need a visionary leader.

You know how 99% of statistics are made up on the spot? That $100,000 estimated value is one of them. How, exactly, does one put an estimated value on attending an Apple Keynote and lunch with Tim Cook?

How much is lunch?

would be better if they sold tickets to a raffle, so anyone could buy one.

How many people are going to have $100,000 or more for the winning bid?

If just "anyone" won the opportunity to have lunch with Tim Cook, there'd be a 50-50 chance Tim would have to sit through a bitch-fest with someone who doesn't drink the Apple kool-aid.

IF I WAS TIM COOK I WOULD BEAT THE HIGHEST BID AND THEN JUST HAVE A QUIET LUCH! :D

LIKE A BOSS:cool:
Hehe, boss.

Bidding is still the best way. Unless of course, raffle tickets are $50k a pop. Anything less, you most likely can't afford to miss work, fly out and get a hotel.

It'll at least give CEO's of small companies the chance though.

Would be neat to start a kickstarter and nominate someone to go to lunch with him and ask him 2 hours worth of questions we all want the answers to. Could easily beat any individual bid someone throws out there.

When it's your money, you can complain. Since it's not - it's not your business, is it?

True. There is always a more just cause. This one happens to be important to Tim. Do I think there is a more worthwhile charity? Sure, but as long as it's not going to KONY2012, I'm cool.

Scott Forstall should jump all over this, win the bid and show up for lunch and just INTENTLY STARE at Tim for the entire hour... just think about how that would go down -

Scott Forstall all smiles and saying "Hey what's up" to everyone he sees on his way to the campus eating area, then he sits down and whips out a napkin, stuffs it into his V-Neck shirt and starts buttering his bread and Tim manages to say "So how have you been Scott?"...

Scott - <Lifts buttered bread to face level... inspects it, and slooooowly takes a bite as he meets Tim's gaze with a cold stare>

Tim - <checks his Mickey Mouse faced Apple Watch... notices there are 59 minutes remaining>

... in the distance, a crowd begins to gather

Apparently the key to making the world a more just place is to create an opportunity that only the 1%'ers can participate in.

----------

Tim Cook is doing a very good job at connecting with customers and improving Apples image as less elite that it was with the prior CEO.

You are kidding, right? They just released a $17,000 watch. They are selling a $600,000+ lunch.

Now I can see someone giving zillions of dollars to the charity of their choice. That's all fine and dandy.

but

Can you imagine whoever wins this thing actually showing up to lunch? What a moron! I don't think such morons exist. And he'd know that anyone who found out what he was doing there or how much he spent to do so would think he was one as well. How embarrassing! ("Pssst, there's the fool who dropped 60K to eat lunch with the boss")

The lunch will never happen. Tastes like a publicity stunt to me....Tim, could you please pass the Grey Poupon? What? no pickles?

Whoever wins should ask him why he had such a hissy fit over Indiana yet still does business in Saudi Arabia and other homophobic Islamic countries.

So cute. I'm guessing you don't buy any goods manufactured in Communist China, right? Let's just say they have a little problem with human rights over there.
