How do people have so much money?? Gosh

Companies do

----------

Includes a ticket to WWDC but you have to cover transportation.

I always find this weird - why is transportation so rarely included in auctions for events that will happen at specific places? Oh, you've spent $200K for lunch, but no transportation included!

I realize that for anyone paying that much to talk with a guy for half an hour, money is no object, so they can easily afford the transportation, but still... that would irritate me.

I especially see that on Kickstarter a lot. $5000 to be a VIP at the release event of the project, but the $200 plane ticket isn't included?

Because a first class ticket from Australia would be $25k. Way too many variables.

The great deal is that if you have a small company and a great new technology under development, spending 200k for launch with Tim can translate in acquisition for milions. Any small sized company of 50+ employees that has stable cash-flow can invest 200k. Its actually a bargain! Im sure that this launch is more like business meeting with a powerpoint presentations and stuff.

That’s a maybe.
You’ll also be selling under Apples no doubt extremely tough and ambiguous terms.

If the winner is a MacRumors member, please pick me as your +1 for lunch. You'll have a loyal friend for life and I would do almost anything in return for your generosity. :)

Anyway, I'm really glad things like this are done to raise money for charity. It's a simple thing that goes toward great causes. I wish I was in a financial position to win an auction like this.

Maybe people are realizing that they are getting no insider information, and are able to provide zero influence.
