It would be good if two or three of those people were not there, including the host Kara.

There are a few really terrible people there directly friends with Epstein and his buddy Brock Pierce.

The classy people on that list should say they don’t want to turn up unless there are changes.

OK, then. Nice gossip. Which will be ignored. You shouldn't attend or watch later. I will.

You know the Code Conference isn't about coding, right?
Dude, Steve attended nearly all All things digital conferences, did these three too? Maybe should have wrote Coders to make it clear…pretty obvious given the attendees this ain’t coding conference, more like moralist codex forum

Are the three of them on friendly terms with one another?

Not really with Cook and Ive but ooooh man I'm gonna watch this one with Buttered-Popcorn!

Katie can get a bit sassy to stir up the pot (usually kept quite during the All Things D time frame), so I'm hoping she lets loose this time around!

I hope it's soo good that Ive's fake accent becomes noticeable (or his renewed accent drops)!
(no accent during 1987's Apple Newton Navigator concept commercial).

Lauren ... I hope she R.Y.N.O.'s the others

Anyone who's watched the Jobs or Jobs/Gates interviews hosted by her and Mossberg know this is going to be a waste of time. Her questions were the height of stupidity and fluff.

EDIT:

That might preclude an event for the iPhone on Sept 7th.

Also recall their last meeting that she was getting ansi/sassy but kept quite ... so I'm thinking Mossberg had that editorial heirarchy leash as it were on her.

we'll see soon enough still.

I wonder if Mrs. Job’s bestie will be in attendance?
Thats not Lauren on the left and we can't tell if thats a doctored photo on the right. But that woman is pretty much like covid, she was just everywhere. I think she intentionally social climbed her way into so many famous social circles because she and Epstein thought that would insulate them.

Yeah, and with Laurene it seemed to do the trick.

I mean, that is from 2022. It’s probably talking about all the looney people who think certain people drink the blood of children to stay young and that Wayfair is trafficking children inside furniture. Child trafficking exists but a certain group have run away with a conspiracy that just doesn’t exist at that scale.

Is anyone else trying to figure out why the Secretary of Transportation is being involved in a conference about tech?? CA governor is kind of a stretch, but makes sense since so much tech is based out of CA.
You don't think the Secretary of Transportation has something to say about autonomous vehicles?

Laurene has no experience other than being Steve's widow and her pet philanthropy projects. What does she know about any of the topics being discussed at Code?
Read the story. There's a tweet right in front of you in which Swisher says she wants to end her final Code Conference by interviewing 3 people that knew Steve Jobs best. She has set expectations accordingly for anyone who has read the story.

Should be interesting, though I have mixed feelings about Kara Swisher, and I definitely wouldn’t say she “grills” anyone. She’s often too buddy-buddy with her interviewees and seems to be more concerned with maintaining her access and “friendships” than asking hard-hitting questions. Sometimes her interviews seem more like paid promotion.

It’s not like Apple is honest about Jobs either, the moment he passed they started calling Walter Isaacson’s book out as false even though Jobs himself approved of it. They are all about the image of Steve Jobs, using him as a marketing tool rather than an actual complex human being. His legacy is great, but I’ll be taking what they say, Cook especially, with a grain of salt.

Unless I’m reading this new item wrong it seems like they’re going to be there to talk about Steve Jobs. And if it’s hosted over three days I’m sure Tim Cook can fit it into his schedule along with an iPhone announcement.
