I don’t know. Anyone else not impressed by the landscaping around Tim in this photo? It looks a mess. Pay a gardener and mow it.
They're recreating the natural environment of California around the campus. This is better for the ecosystem and helps native wildlife, including many pollinators, which are vital to humanity's survival. Their campus is quite large, so it's nice that they did this. Mowing is a recent thing that humans started doing, including bringing in non-native grasses, which is bad for the local ecosystem. I would do the same as Apple if my HOA allowed it, lol. For now I have kids, so turf is essential for their play and for my wife's daycare business, but when we retire we are planning for on our off-grid home to be in more harmony with the local environment.

They tried to coach him how to act in public but this is all they got out of him… lost cause, it’s either scripted appearance or memoji Tim
/s

What he says is on point, but his delivery still sucks, he’s just not comfortable and sounds like he memorized it

His hands stay closed. I can tell Tim Cook has changed alot. Poor guy looks so innocent and under pressure. Not sure for the good or the bad.

Translation for "economic uncertainty": the fed raised interest rates high enough that corporations can't rely on bond sales for generating free money anymore.

It's incredible what Phill mentions about windows machines carrying all these stickers, fast forward many years to today, and they are still doing it, so much for UX investment in the industry 🤣.

Another one of the many aspects Apple still remains far ahead from its competition. Packaging.

I'm ok with slowing down on the hiring. I'd have a problem if they started laying people off.

If hiring is "very deliberately" now, does that mean before it was randomly, unintentionally?

Of course, and that was Apple's secret for becoming one of the most successful companies in the world, manufacturing and selling 600,000+ iPhones per day, every day of the year (on the average).

At least there are no layoffs being reported. But I have an idea!

How about Apple Execs in the company take a pay cut to help out the economy?
Layoffs can come in the form of calculated terminations over a period of time. The term layoff is a detriment to stock and public perception(or reality) that a company is floundering. Apple's pr works overtime to give them this aurora of perfection. I don't see apple using the word layoff, eventhough they will terminate and cut hundreds of employees and jobs.

He's sort of not saying anything substantial, other than there is no general hiring freeze I guess - still better than announcing mass layoffs, but I don't see why a company in Apple's position would need to lay workers off.
I’ve become very irritated by the insubstantial comments that routinely come from Apple these days. They just shouldn’t say anything at all instead of using doublespeak and word salads.
