Tim Cook: At Apple, it is very important to reduce our carbon footprint.

Also Tim Cook: Hello China, let's do even more business together!
Typical CEO behavior, another hypocritical clown. "Hey, vote for this, don't use that, you can't do it anyway and stop eating it! Yes, I'm sending this important social media post from a private jet, sorry, I can." Probably also had a few bear paws on the way.

Uh, China is number one for sure, but the wrong kind of number one, sporting 35% of the globe's total carbon emissions.

Per Capita, things sort a little different:

While Apple is diversifying its production to various other countries, its reliance on China will definitely continue for the time being. Don’t think Tim will be visiting other countries as a part of 50th anniversary celebrations.

As of March 15, Apple lowered its standard App Store commission rate for iPhone and iPad apps and in-app purchases from 30% to 25% in mainland China, following "discussions with the Chinese regulator." However, Bloomberg reported that China is urging Apple to further ease App Store restrictions and address "monopolistic" practices.
Discussions? Really? That is respectful of Apple. Let’s see whether Apple sustains the respect if China’s urging becomes mandating that Apple allow 3rd-party app stores. It’ll be interesting to see how the company will react and present the security & privacy argument to the regulators. Personally, I suspect Apple will not throw the same kind of tantrums they threw in Europe … too much at $take for them in the People’s Republic.
