Came across this and found it interesting, but its not unexpected for him to wear a watch that's not publicly available.
Take a look:

Yeah... this came up on the MR main page at launch.

He probably just liked the red crown and had someone stick one in there. It was possibly a test unit and it works so he keeps on using it.

They may well eventually offer options like that down the road. One never knows.

Or it really is a yellow gold model and he's swapped the band. That looks like the only one with a red crown. Hard to tell what material the watch is in the pic. Color could be off.

All dev models have a red crown. It's like the red lightning connectors on dev iPhones. Nothing to see here aside from that

Apple has given out a few "not available to the general public" customized Apple Watches: Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld and Beyonce have what appear to be full-gold link bracelets, and British rugby player Will Carling has what appears to be a custom sport band in red.

I've seen this pop up a few times, I have a feeling it's just the mark they were using for a prototype, just like the internals for prototype macs are all red.

Its also possible its not stainless steel. It could be white gold or platinum.

Certainly no surprise that the Apple CEO would have a unique Apple watch. I can't think of anyone more entitled to wear one and it is certainly more tasteful in my opinion than an all gold one with gold band.

It's probably a frankenstein watch with bits and pieces off of the other watches to help test the durability of the materials. Just a guess.

Is that all a billionaire can do? superglue a red plastic dot? You would think that with his resources he'd be wearing a nuclear-powered watch.
