Tim Cook is a dragon. Don't underestimate him.

I met Tim Cook once. He was giving a speech to a thousand or so Apple staff in the plant in Cork, telling us everything was ok, no one was being made redundant and to keep working as hard as ever.

A couple of weeks later several hundred of us were let go. Needless to say, he's not my favourite Apple exec!

But it's clear that alongside Apple's innovators & designers, they now have some incredibly good 'bean counters'/deal makers. They seem to be much, much better now at putting in place key deals to secure the necessary components/services at low price points. Apple's key new products (iPad, Air) are relatively low cost with typically healthy margins. That's a large part of why they're doing so well.

Tcook@apple.com?? I think that's the convention for apple emails.

While this particular mail address might be the right one I just want to throw in that there's no strict convention for mail addresses at Apple.
At least for the @euro.apple.com addresses it is basically "Choose an address that you see fit, keep it short and include your last name"

Thus there are often things like
FirstName[0].LastName@*apple.com (e.g. a certain member of the iBooks development staff)
FirstName[0]LastName@*apple.com (e.g. sjobs@apple.com, tcook@apple.com)
LastName@*apple.com (e.g. forstall@apple.com)
etc.

I know that doesn't really fit into the topic but I just wanted to say this at some point because I often see people talk about mail address conventions at Apple ;-)

I just paid $24,31 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic GF 1 Camera that we got for $34,26 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.
