Is there a nice free app for Mac that can sit on the taskbar that displays today's time and date in easy to see way?

Doesn't the top bar already show the time and date? Why do you need an app for what the computer already does?

It's too small to see.

Any nice looking App that shows the DATE and time and day that's big and easy to see at a glance?

----------

It's the first option in System Preferences -> Date & Time -> Clock

Not on my Snow Leopard it ain't. Besides, it's too small to see, want something bigger and brighter.

I find it frustrating that when a Safari page is maximised, the task bar with the date & time disappears unless you hover the cursor at the top of the screen. I wish there was a way of displaying it always.

Dashboard.

Hit "F12" function key to activate.

Hit F12 again, or Esc, or the right arrow to de-activate.

taskbar?

anyway.. if you put iCal.app in your dock, the icon will always show the date..
there's probably an app out there that will do the same with a clock..

personally, the menu bar clock suit me just fine but if you're saying it's too small then…

fwiw, that's hardware dependent.. for instance, on my mbp, f12 is volume up.. f4 is dashboard..

It's too small to see.
If it's too small to see, you wouldn't be able to see anything else on your Mac. It's bigger than the text elsewhere.

You don't need an app. It works fine in OS X, on Snow Leopard, like this:

That don't work! When I hit F12 my volume increases!

LOL! My eyesight is far from good. If you can't read the Menu Bar, how can you read anything on your Mac, such as other toolbars?

I can read it, but was looking for a easier glance method instead of having to make an effort lol

I have removed all widget apps and only have iCal Calendar showing when I press F4, so when I now press F4 I can see a big black calendar with the date and day etc showing in big font :D

I wish I could change it from black to a nicer color though :(

Try Geektool. You can make the text as big as you like.
