I was able to set up my TC 1T as a standalone wireless box for backups. Solid light with no blinks on the TC. I named it and it rebooted and showed up on my network (linksys N network). It was recognized by my 08 MB and timemachine started doing the backup. After working for 20 min or so it said error making backup. It seemed the MB and the TC were communicating ok. Tried it again. I was able again to reconnect to the TC but it failed again 20 min later in the same way. I'm suspecting a bum hard drive in the TC since it wasnt a wireless connectivitiy thing and I was able to set up the TC as a standalone box with its own name. Furthermore timemachine started the backups ok.

Is it worth returning it to the apple store and getting another one or is the TC just too buggy. Its not that big of a deal to hook up an ext HD and do backups once in a while!
