Is there any way to control the sleep mode for the time capsule hd? I hate the 10-15 sec delay in accessing files over the network while the hd re-initializes. I know other folks have complained about this over the years - just wanted to see if there was any update to the problem.

Thanks

I use an applet called "Keep Drive Spinning" for keeping my attached FW disks spinning, as I have my Home directory on an external disk because I am using an SSD as my boot disk and only have the essentials on it.

I found out today that if you mount your Time Capsule by clicking on it in the Finder, then run Keep Drive Spinning, you can select your Time Capsule disk as a drive that Keep Drive Spinning touches. I now have both my TC and an attached 1GB network drive being "touched" by Keep Drive Spinning and they no longer spin down and rest. Navigating to them is now just as fast as if they were directly attached to my desktop. Give it a try!
