Hello,
I have a TC and I have set everything up. I have set the disk to be shared and I have the Data folder where my Time Machine backups are. When I go to Finder and try to create a New Folder in the Root, it's grayed out. I can create folders in the Data folder, but NOT in the root of the TC drive. Is there a way for me to do this? I can't think of any other settings to check.

Thanks!

Any luck?

Hi, did you have any luck with this issue? I have same problem. I have the TC set up on time machine but I want to also use it to store a load of tunes that wont fit on the mac. ANy idea how this is done as the "new folder" option is greyed out when I look at the TC in finder.

This was actually a mistake on my part. The first column in Finder is the root where all disks are displayed on the Time Capsule. For example, if you have a USB disk attached, those partitions will show up there. Essentially, everything after the Data portion is where you can store files. There isn't anything wrong.
