Go to manual setup and hover over the version. You will have an option to revert back to previous version. Worked so far for me.

Thanks for that

But the only options I have are to update to the 7.4.1 version or leave it at 7.4
It does have a "other" option but that produces a browse dialogue to find the version i want on my hard drive and since this is a brand new TC there are no other files.

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Probably not! I suspect that because you have the "new" Time Capsule, 7.3.2 may be incompatible. That is likely why it does not appear in the version list.

My TC is an "original" one.

i have a dual-band time capsule and the only firmware is:

picture2tnl.png

I've restored it numerous times with no succession.
I use to get internet drop outs and stalling of the internal drive , etc.
now i can not get full internet speed.

directly to the modem i get ~25Mbps Down & ~3Mbps Up
with the timecapsule i get ~2Mbps Down & 1Mbps Up

with the Airport Extreme (with firmware 7.4.1) i was getting modem speeds.

randomly i'll get modem speeds with the timecapsule (when i first set it up).

there are no a/b/g devices connected nor any other interference or anything connected to it than just my macbookpro.

its been a very just doesnt work type of set up  and i was really looking to just swap it out without issue.

hopefully this will be fixed asap as its seems its been an issue for well over a month and half.

disconnects when turn off computer

My time capsule, bought last year, spring, loses its connection when I turn off the iMac. I usually let it sleep at night but like to turn it off occasionally or if there is a storm or going out of town. Is it common for this to happen? I don't recall that it did that before recently. The yellow light flashes and I have to reset and redo the whole setup using the manual option. very annoying.
Oh yes, I am on cable.

Just wondering

Hi All,
I have read several posts for TC having connection problems. Has the thread author called support or used the genius bar for help?

re thread author, genius bar

I am brand new to this forum and not sure how to contact the genius bar online. I am 3.5 hours away from an Apple store. But I wish one of the moderators would chime in on this problem--if they have a solution beyond the first one noted, about reverting to some earlier version of something! I don't know that my problem (disconnect when turning Mac off) is related to that issue.

I stumbled upon this thread and it appears my time capsule suffers from this malady. I'm going to downgrade to 7.3.2 and hopefully that will resolve the problem. I was about to swap out the unit and go back back to my old airport extreme router instead because it kept dropping my connection.
