I didn't see any information on this in the forums, so I figured that I'd post this.

Basically I'm wondering if it's possible to rip out the HD in the TC, use a SATA to eSATA cable/adapter in place of the HD connector, connect that to an external RAID array and have the TC view it as a normal drive.

While I'm well aware of the fact the TC doesn't do RAID, my thought is if I can get the TC recognize the array as its internal drive, I should be all set to use the HW RAID on the array...

Also, if anyone knows if the SATA connection on the TC motherboard is normal and not proprietary, that would be good information as well...

Thoughts?

TIA.

Why not attach your array via USB? Obviously performance will suffer (theoretically, in practice I imagine the wireless connection will be the real limiting factor) but it will be far more simple and require less fiddling.
