There's something wrong with my Time Capsule.

It regularly intermittently stops providing internet connection to all my WiFi stuff (iPhone, iPad and Macbook Pro), but doesn't drop the WiFi signal connection.

I tried restarting and also updating the firmware 7.4.2 to 7.4.2 again but it never managed to fix the problem.

I currently use the Time Capsule as both a Time Machine back up disk, and also as wireless external hard drive storage for my Macbook Pro.

Will I lose any data on my Time Capsule if I tried "restore default settings"?

Does anyone know a solution to fixing my flaky internet? - the ISP is not the cause of the intermittent connection, because my neighbours with the same ISP are fine.

Reseting the Time Capsule will not delete any data on its hard disk.

As for your Internet issues, you may have luck with switching the channel that your Time Capsule is using. If there are other wireless devices using the same channel, it could cause the types of issues you're experiencing.

Hopefully, it's not a precursor to the dreaded PSU overheating issue. With my Time Capsule, while the Internet connection never actually dropped out, it would disappear from my list of AirPort devices in AirPort Utility and would require a reset before it could be detected again. Shortly after, it went kaput, but was replaced by Apple with a similar model.

Which brings me to my final thought: If you're still having issues, contact Apple. If any of your other computers with which you use the Time Capsule have AppleCare warranties, Apple will cover your Time Capsule under that warranty (I believe).
