I compared the prices of the 1TB and 2TB TC's to an Airport Extreme Base Station plus a separate 1TB & 2TB hard drive. It appears that the 1TB TC is reasonably priced, but the 2TB is greatly overpriced. Why the disparity?

Apple prices and logic don't go hand in hand together - that's why :)

If you want to buy Apple, get it for the design and complete integration of OS and hardware. The prices of some of thw Apple products seems to be reasonable priced (like for instance their prices on SSD drives, which is pretty close to reatail PC store prices - but their RAM and external harddrive prices are way too high)

It's just Apple logic ;)
