Recently - the last couple of days - I have been having problems with my Time Capsule. It will stop working; I will lose wifi and even the hard wired computer will lose connection to it. I tried to downgrade the firmware and that didn't work. I also ordered some new cables as I have some homemade cables and my router is in the comm panel (connected to the Time Capsule via pre-existing CAT5 in the wall).

I am going to try and shut down the router and the Time Capsule, bring the router back up then turn on the Time Capsule. Other than that, does anyone have an idea as to what my problem could be? I have the Time Capsule that is one version older than the current, vertical, Time Capsule.

Using a Mac with AirPort Utility 6.3 or later (Lion or Later), attempt to downgrade to 7.6.1. Currently, 7.6.4 is the latest but due to a DHCP server bug, they can crash when routers reset (Lease Ends, Renegotiated Link, Etc.)

In my experience in my AirPort network, 7.6.1 is stable for an Extreme and 7.6.4 for an Express. Also try running it without any Ethernet connected clients.
