Time Capsule & Raid 5 array/drive

I called Apple today and despite being bounced around I did not receive an answer to my question. If I purchase a Raid 5 array/drive (G-Tech or Pegasus) and set it up as an external drive, not attached or as a back up for Time Machine, will my Time Capsule recognize it when it is mounted and back it up the same as a non-Raid drive? My goal is to have Time Capsule make a redundant back up of the Raid 5 array/drive.

I'd think that as long as the device is mounted under /Volumes, Time Machine should see the data and back it up.

That was what I was thinking but I do wonder if there will be an issue with TC reading the Raid 5 drive.
