Is there a way to check the health of a Time Capsules HDD on Yosemite ?

all i know is you can check smart status in airpot utility 5.6.1 on windows ( or an older os x)


if you reboot the time capsule, and the light is green, your drive is fine
a failing drive will be reported in airport utility as far as i know

apple says never to use disk utility to check, verify, or repair a time capsule

Raw smart status: ssh into time capsule after enabling debug-ssh mode (Follow instructions elsewhere). You now have a netbsd system, use "atactl wd0 smart status" to get status of attached drive.
