Time Capsule

Ok, after buying a spanking new time capsule yesterday, I came to install it this morniing and I installed the supplied CD yesterday.

Ok, I plug my time machine in and go into airport utiities, and sometimes my time machine comes up sometimes it dosent, then when i click on it and click continue it says there was an error connecting to the network

any help?

edit: Im currently using a wired network, and i want to use the time capsule to create a wi-fi netowrk, ( as well as back up)

and im using leopard
