So I successfully recovered everything from my Time Machine drive using Migration Assistant, after doing a clean install of OS X. Right now Time Machine is backing stuff up onto the same drive.

Since it is working as it has before, is it ok to assume that I can just keep using the same Time Machine drive without having to reformat it and start over at all?

Dunno. I would format the time machine disk and start "fresh" after making sure having all the important stuff restored...
