I've just encountered a Time Machine error message that I have never seen before. I came into my office and my 20 TB hard drive is grinding away, the heads were clearly doing a lot of work. The message on the screen was that Time Machine backup failed. I clicked on the more info button and the message that shows up on the Time Machine System Settings panel is:
Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to "Mac Time Machine"
An error occurred while starting the backup. Anti-virus software may be preventing Time Machine from writing to the backup.
I have not installed anti-virus software on this computer. Has anyone else seen such an error message? Disconnecting the drive, powering it off, and then powering it on does not resolve the problem. Running current version of Tahoe on M4 mini.
