Time Machine backup changed all user folders to UNIX?

Basically, all the folders such as Applications on my time machine backup, have all suddenly converted themselves to 'UNIX EXECUTABLE FILES'.

I tried restoring from backup using my Snow Leopard disc, but it said 'No full Mac OS X backups were found'.

Please help.. Just got my Mac back today to come to this :/

Probably should start by repairing the backup volume with Disk Utility (or better yet: DiskWarrior).

I've already tried this, it found some errors, but fixed them all.
