Time machine been working for 24hrs - and still not done!

Helpful Hint from Gizmodo

For what it's worth, I've been plagued by slow and slower Time Machine backups, and following this hint seems to have helped. I formatted my FireWire drive and I'm redoing my back-ups, and it seems to have sped the process up considerably.
