I'm going to add more storage capacity to a NAS that I am using for TM backups. How do I find out what disk limit I've set for my current TM backups and more importantly, how do I increase the disk limit?

You configure that using the NAS’ console. MacOS has nothing to do with it.

Agreed.

You need to look for Disk Quota or similar on the NAS configuration for the Time Machine account that you're using.
