When Time Machine started to backup my files, at some point it was "Cleaning Up". What exactly does that mean? What is it cleaning up exactly for?
 
When Time Machine started to backup my files, at some point it was "Cleaning Up". What exactly does that mean? What is it cleaning up exactly for?
Time machine removes no longer necessary files and folders from the backup volume (i.e. TM deletes old backups and indices).
